USLPA Player Relations Announcement

The United Soccer League Players Association is pleased to announce the addition of Colin Daniel as Director of Player Relations and Marco Micaletto and Kyle Grieg as Managers in the USLPA’s newly formed Player Relations Department.

Daniel will help coordinate the handling of Player and Player/Club matters. Additionally, he wil serve in a role devoted to consistent dialogue with USL Championship and League One Team Representatives as it relates to Player well-being while also fostering and maintaining a positive relationship between the Players, the USL and its Clubs.

Both Micaletto and Grieg will assist Daniel in coordinating all Player and Player/Club matters. They will play a major role in fostering and maintaining a positive relationship between the Players, the USL and its Clubs.

Daniel, 31, is a Bay Area native, and grew up playing for a number of South Bay clubs including Pacific Soccer Academy and Santa Clara Sporting. Daniel attended the University of Newcastle in Australia where he double majored in History and Political Science. Colin returned to the Bay after college to start a career in tech. After successful stints at a number of start-ups in sales and operational roles, Colin moved to the investment side, as an VC Analyst at the River Accelerator. Additionally, Colin has remained active in the Bay Area soccer scene as a coach of Cheerios FC in the SFSFL, a league that has been successful multiple times in the US Open Cup.

USLPA Executive Committee: “Collin brings a level of experience and professionalism to the USLPA that will greatly benefit the Players. He has background in managing internal systems which will be a great asset to our organization. We are excited to welcome Colin to our growing Players Association.”

Micaletto, 24, is currently a midfielder and Team Representative for South Georgia Tormenta FC in USL League One. Micaletto was born in Rome, Italy and moved to England at age 8. In 2014, Micaletto moved to the United States to attend Young Harris College, where he graduated in three years with a degree in Business, Communications and Spanish. Micaletto enrolled in the University of Akron’s Health Profession graduate program in 2018 and is expected to complete the program in the spring of 2021. Micaletto has also been named to the USL League One Team of the Week twice during the 2020 season.

Grieg, 30, is currently a forward for St. Louis FC in the USL Championship. Grieg attended Benedictine College, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 2012 and maintains personal training and sports nutrition certifications through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. Grieg also completed Grassroots coaching certifications through US Soccer and earned a National Diploma certification through United Soccer Coaches. Grieg currently serves as the USLPA’s Team Representative for St. Louis FC.

USLPA Executive Committee: “Marco is a sharp, hungry young professional with a bright future. He has experienced many different cultures, speaks three different languages, and impacts each person he interacts with. Kyle is a veteran of the USL that has played at every domestic level in this country. He is hard working, compassionate, and has a diverse range of experiences that will greatly benefit the Players of our Association. We are excited to welcome both Marco and Kyle to our organization.”

All three will join the USLPA in their roles effective immediately.
